With Royal Challengers Bengaluru finally lifting their maiden Indian Premier League trophy, the list of teams yet to win the title has narrowed down to just three—Punjab Kings, Delhi Capitals, and Lucknow Super Giants. While Punjab and Delhi have endured heartbreaking final defeats in the past, Lucknow are still searching for its first title breakthrough, having not progressed beyond the playoffs since joining the league.

As IPL 2026 approaches, the usual pre-season chatter and banter have started gaining momentum. Adding spice to the conversation, Jitesh Sharma didn’t hold back when asked about the title drought of these franchises. The RCB wicketkeeper-batter, who began his IPL journey with Punjab Kings, cheekily suggested that the wait might continue.

Jitesh’s own journey adds context to his confidence. After being released by Punjab Kings ahead of the 2024 mega auction, he was picked up by RCB for ₹11 crore—a move that proved to be a masterstroke. In his debut season with the franchise, he played a crucial role in their title-winning campaign, scoring 261 runs at an impressive strike rate of 176.35.
