South African players have expressed their will to whitewash India in the three-match Test series, where they have already take a 2-0 lead in the series. Thus, the pitch curator of Johannesburg’s Wanderers Stadium is preparing a green trap for Team India to give them back what they offered South Africa back in 2015.

The images are coming from Johannesburg, which shows that the pitch is as green as the outfield of the ground, which has increased the headaches for India. South Africa’s skipper Faf du Plessis was demanding a green tinge for every Test but Centurion’s track left him fuming over a typical sub-continental track.

Talking to CricketNext, Faf admitted that he doesn’t want another similar pitch in this series and Cricket South Africa should look into this matter.

“I was very concerned, leading up to the Test match. It didn’t look like a Centurion wicket that I know. That is a concern, to be honest. I am very honest about good things and when we get it right but it’s also fair to comment on where we can get better. I believe this was an opportunity that we missed,” said Du Plessis.

“We can blame the groundsman but we also have to blame ourselves. We made a process where we make sure CSA has someone that looks after the groundsmen to get the right kind of pitches when we play against teams. We never wanted something ridiculous, we just wanted a pitch with pace and bounce,” he added.

“I think there is concern that we are not getting it right and this is not the first time. I can think of three or four occasions over the last 12 months. That’s something I will be taking up and making sure we can improve.”

The final Test of this series will undergo from January 24, which will be the fight of the pride for Team India. If series result read 3-0, both teams will tie at the points in the Test rankings.
