Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Delhi Capitals (DC) are locking horns with each other in the 64th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 at the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai. Lalit Yadav fell without scoring to Arshdeep Singh, but a few moments later, everyone got to know the bowler had overstepped despite Jonny Bairstow taking a brilliant catch.

PBKS skipper, Mayank Agarwal won the toss and decided to bowl first citing chances of dew later in the innings. While PBKS made no changes to their playing XI, DC made a couple of changes as Khaleel Ahmed replaces Chetan Sakariya and Sarfaraz Khan takes KS Bharat’s place.

After losing David Warner for a golden duck, Mitchell Marsh and Sarfaraz Khan scored runs quickly. They were cruising at 45/1 in four overs after being asked to bat, with Sarfaraz being the aggressor, scoring 26 off 11 balls. The fifth over was bowled by Arshdeep Singh, one of the most consistent bowlers in IPL 2022.

The left-arm pacer got the dangerous-looking Sarfaraz Khan with a slower delivery, and then with the next ball, he managed to outfox Lalit Yadav with a sharp bouncer. Jonny Bairstow took a brilliant running catch from the long-leg boundary and completed an outstanding catch.

However, a few moments later, the third umpire turned on the silencer. It meant Arshdeep had overstepped while bowling that bouncer, which gave Lalit a lifeline. PBKS players were disappointed after seeing the replay, as they were well aware of the fact that the wicket could change the fortune of the contest in no time. The brilliant catch from Jonny Bairstow eventually went in vain.
