During an interaction (Rapid fire round) with Rajasthan Royals (RR) on social media, veteran spinner, Ravichandran Ashwin, the interviewer asked a highly debatable question to the fiery opener, Jos Buttler. The Englishman did not shy away from being on the front foot and gave no diplomatic answer as he picked former Indian skipper, Rahul Dravid to bat for him if his life was on the line.

Rahul Dravid has been an absolute stalwart of Indian cricket as he was known for being one of the most resilient batters ever. Dravid’s trademark was the number of deliveries he used to face, especially in the longest format of the game. Dravid announced his retirement in 2012 from all formats of the game. He managed to score a whopping number of 24,177 runs in international cricket, playing more than 500 matches.

Dravid started his tenure in 2021 after the end of the T20 World Cup. He is set to lead the national team as a head coach in the upcoming 2-3 world cups and the World Test Championship 2021-23.

Coming back to the interaction between R Ashwin and Jos Buttler, Ashwin asked “If your life was on the line, who would you choose to bat for you?,” Buttler replied “Rahul Dravid,” Ashwin responded “Wow, that’s Nice. Any particular reason?” Buttler replied “Just, The Wall, you can’t get past that. He’ll bat all day.”
