Kagiso Rabada Finally Joins DC Squad For The Practice Session

On Monday, ahead of the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), South African fast bowler, Kagiso Rabada joined the Delhi Capitals (DC) for his first training session with his franchise after completing one week of self-isolation upon his arrival in Dubai. The 25-year-old was seen training with his teammates for the first time this season at the ICC Academy in Dubai.

On Sunday, BCCI revealed the scheduled for IPL 2020, CSK will be locking horns with Mumbai Indians (MI) in the tournament opener on September 19. The final of the IPL 2020 will be played on November 10 and the matches will be played across three venues in the UAE – Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah.

Dubai will be hosting play host to 24 games, 20 matches will be played in Abu Dhabi while Sharjah will be hosting 12 matches. The dates and venues for the playoff stage and the final will be released later. The opening match between the finalists of the 2019 edition will be played in Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.

Delhi Capitals will be playing their opening match against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) on Sunday, September 20.

On Sunday, DC management went on to announce that their assistant physiotherapist has tested positive for coronavirus. The franchise said he was going through his mandatory quarantine and had tested negative for his first two tests conducted on arrival in Dubai, but unfortunately, tested positive for the third one.

In a statement regarding the same, Delhi Capitals said, “He was yet to meet with and had not been in contact with any players or staff of the franchise. He was isolated immediately, and is currently at the IPL Isolation Facility in Dubai for the next 14 days, at the end of which he will have to produce two negative reports for him to be able to join the Delhi Capitals squad.”
