Gujarat Titans pacer Kagiso Rabada produced a fiery spell against Sunrisers Hyderabad during Match 56 of IPL 2026 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, removing dangerous opener Abhishek Sharma after an intense on-field battle in the powerplay. Chasing a competitive target of 166, SRH started aggressively with Abhishek taking the attack straight to Rabada.

The left-hander smashed the South African quick for a towering six off the very first delivery of the over, immediately putting pressure on the Gujarat Titans pace spearhead. However, Rabada responded brilliantly. After conceding the early maximum, he tightened his lines and bowled two consecutive dot balls to build pressure on the SRH opener.
On the fourth ball of the over, Abhishek attempted to charge down the pitch and manufacture another attacking shot, but Rabada cramped him for room with a sharp delivery angled into the body.

The batter only managed an inside edge, and the ball ricocheted back onto the stumps, ending a dangerous cameo. Rabada celebrated the breakthrough with an animated send-off and an intense stare toward the departing batter, highlighting the fierce competitive nature of the contest.

The wicket once again underlined Rabada’s dominance with the new ball this season. The Gujarat Titans pacer has been among the best performers in the powerplay during IPL 2026, consistently delivering early breakthroughs for his side. Following Abhishek’s dismissal, Rabada struck again soon after by removing Ishan Kishan for 11, further denting Sunrisers Hyderabad’s chase.
Earlier in the evening, Gujarat Titans posted 165 on the board after useful contributions from Sai Sudharsan and Washington Sundar helped them recover from early setbacks. SRH had made an excellent start with the ball through Praful Hinge, who dismissed both Shubman Gill and Jos Buttler inside the powerplay.
