Mumbai Indians veteran cricketer, Kieron Pollard was fell to a brilliant fielding placement by the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) team as a fielder was standing right behind the bowler. In Abu Dhabi, on Friday, Pollard was struggling to time the ball when he was dismissed by Abhishek Sharma after scoring 13 runs off 12 balls. On the 5th ball of the 13th over, Abhishek bowled a flighted delivery outside Kieron Pollard’s off-stump.

Kieron Pollard went for a lofted shot and the ball was well on its way for a four or a six was caught by Jason Roy, who was placed in the line with the bowler/umpire, bisecting the long off and long on positions. Roy took the catch with a couple of juggles. This has been a tactic often used by CSK skipper MS Dhoni knowing Kieron Pollard’s strength down the ground.

After winning the toss and MI decided to bat first and Ishan Kishan gave a brilliant start to the men in blue. He smashed Mohammad Nabi for a first-ball six before carting Siddarth Kaul for four boundaries in a row. The left-hander then went after Umran Malik, cracking another couple of boundaries. Rashid Khan, however, applied brakes on the scoring rate with the wicket of Rohit Sharma, who departed for 18.

Mumbai reached 83/1 at the end of the first six overs with 63 coming off Kishan’s bat, who continued his assault smoking a six and a four to Malik. He then went after SRH’s premier spinner, Rashid Khan, slogging him over mid-wicket bringing up MI’s hundred in the eighth over. Hardik, after hitting a six off Rashid, got out to Jason Holder.
