After struggling in the first three games, KL Rahul managed to get his form back in the game against Bangladesh in the Super 12 clash of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2022 at the Adelaide Oval on Wednesday, as he scored a morale-boosting 50. However, one of his outstanding cricketing shots is what stood out during this knock which also impressed the Indian stalwart, Virat Kohli, and left the latter awestruck.

KL Rahul looked a bit rusty in the first 10 balls of his innings, especially the ones bowled outside the off-stump line. He was under pressure as he was coming into this contest on the back of three successive failures having scored just 4, 9, and, 9 runs so far. However, once skipper Rohit Sharma was dismissed with just two runs against his name off eight deliveries, Rahul decided to take the charge and played a fearless brand of cricket.

KL Rahul looked so good that even Virat Kohli played a second fiddle during their 67-run partnership for the second wicket. On one of the deliveries, Rahul played his trademark flick shot which was not only timed well but also landed into the crowd for a huge six. This spectacular shot left Virat awestruck and he gave a jaw-dropping look expressing his disbelief.

KL Rahul looked well set for a big score, but it was not to be as he was dismissed immediately after reaching his half-century by Shakib Al Hasan. He walked back to the dugout scoring 50 runs off 32 balls at a strike rate of 156.25 and his knock included three fours and four sixes.

After Rahul’s dismissal, Virat Kohli took the initiative of keeping the scoreboard as he registered his 36th T20I half-century and surpassed the Sri Lanka batting icon Mahela Jayawardene to become the leading run-scorer in T20 World Cup history. Kohli remained unbeaten on 64 runs off 44 deliveries as India posted a stiff total of 184/6.
