After Mayank Agarwal played a brilliant 76-run knock on his debutant innings in international cricket, KL Rahul claimed that Agarwal is the most hardworking person he has seen.
As the Indian Test openers Murali Vijay and KL Rahul both are not in-form with the bat, Mayank Agarwal made his international cricket debut in the ongoing Melbourne Test who joined the team as a replacement of the injured youngster Prithvi Shaw.
In his debutant innings, Agarwal provided a great start and scored 76 runs off 161 balls (8 fours and only six). After the end of the day one, Agarwal’s Karnataka teammate KL Rahul praised about the new Indian opening batsman. Rahul claimed that Agarwal is the most hardworking person he has seen in the dressing room.
Rahul told bcci.tv, “He [Agarwal] is the most hardworking person that I have seen in the dressing room, growing up. He is one of my inspirations like in the dressing room when we used to play together. I used to see him, hitting the gym, hitting the nets or during his running session, he is an absolute beast. I used to look at him and ask him ‘can we train together?'”.
