The IPL 2020 had to be moved out of India due to the rising coronavirus cases in the country. All the eight franchises have already reached the hosting country for the upcoming IPL. Captioning the pictures on their official Twitter handle, KKR wrote: “New city, New #HomeOfTheKnights Sneak-peek into the #KKR Team Room in Abu Dhabi”.

This year’s IPL is scheduled to commence on September 19 and the final of the tournament currently being scheduled to be taking place on November 10. KKR finished at the 5th position in the rankings in 2019 as a result they had failed to qualify for the play-offs.

Despite having Andre Russell, who also went on to win the purple cap last year, the Kolkata-based franchise suffered losses in a lot of close games last season. As the IPL 2020 is nearing, Russell is gearing up well for the tournament as he smashed a quick-fire half-century off just 38 deliveries in a knock that included five maximums during a Caribbean Premier League (CPL) match on Saturday.

KKR has roped in Brendon McCullum has been performing the role of their head coach for this season as they look to turn things around in the UAE.

The IPL matches are scheduled to be played at the three venues; Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, and Dubai will be hosting all the 60 matches in 53 days, starting next month. This is not the first time that the IPL will be played in the UAE. In 2014, UAE had hosted the initial stages of the T20 league partially due to the general elections in India.
