India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin found himself in the controversy after he dismissed Rajasthan Royals batsman Buttler in a ‘mankading’ way during Kings XI Punjab’s game against Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League (IPL) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Monday. However, everyone including the cricket fraternity started giving their opinions on social media about the matter.

Meanwhile, the Kolkata Police inspired by the ‘Mankad’ controversy and they tried to use it in a creative way by which they wanted to send a message to everyone through the campaign. However, The Kolkata Police merged the picture of Jos Buttler’s dismissal by Ashwin with a picture where a car was seen crossing the line, with a statement written, “Crease or road, you will regret, if you cross the line”.

Rajasthan Royals chose to field first after winning the toss. Kings XI Punjab put up a decent competitive total of 184/4 on board after 20 overs, including Gayle’s blistering 79 off 47 and Sarfaraz Khan’s quickfire 46 off 29. While chasing, Rajasthan Royals were looking too stable with their scoring as Buttler (69) and skipper Ajinkya Rahane (27) got Rajasthan off to a flying start. Buttler was looking too comfortable in the middle and punished all the bowlers by hitting eight boundaries and two over-boundaries to reach his half-century in just 29 balls.

However, the ‘Mankading’ incident took place when captain Ravichandran Ashwin did some unimaginable as he dismissed Buttler at the non-striker’s end in a ‘mankading’ way when they were at 108-2. Buttler became the first player of ‘mankading’ in the history of IPL.

However, this is not the first time when the Kolkata Police tried something new with this type of incident. Earlier they did it after Cheteshwar Pujara’s first Test century in Australia during the first Test in December 2018. Then they added Pujara’s celebration picture with a person’s picture wearing a seat belt while driving the car and shared on their official Twitter account with the caption “Defense should be like Pujara”.
