India spinner Kuldeep Yadav talked about the current phase in his career and also his challenges that he is facing currently. Kuldeep has not been a part of the squad now as he and Yuzvendra Chahal were sidelined from two Twenty 20 series against the West Indies and South Africa respectively as India are trying out youngsters for the upcoming T20 World Cup next year.

“When I started playing cricket, never thought I would play for India. I have been playing for India close to three years now, there will be many challenges, like the one I am facing at the moment,” Kuldeep told PTI. “There is nothing without hardwork and discipline and I continue to play the game with that approach.”

He started his international cricket with a four-wicket haul against Australia in a Test match in March 2017 and it did not take much time to cement his place in the side across formats. He also became the third Indian to take a hat-trick in ODIs. Kuldeep Yadav remained a part of the Test squad but he didn’t get a game this season with Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja have done the job pretty well in the ongoing series against South Africa.

After the World Cup, although he took six wickets in seven games at 56.16 in the West Indies but didn’t get the chance to play in the two-Test series. However, he was asked if the selectors and team management have said their reasons behind the exclusion of him and Chahal in the T20 squad, Kuldeep shared he will talk about this later.
