The youngster has left his mark with the ability to bowl long spells with accurate seam movement from the wicket as well. Meanwhile, he was associated with Bharat Arun, way before making his debut as he worked closely with him during his time with Sunrisers Hyderabad. And, Sivaramakrishnan feels that Arun has given a lot of knowledge to Siraj, the rewards of which he is currently getting as well.

While speaking to the Hindustan Times, he said: “Siraj’s success also has a lot to do with Arun. When he was the coach for Hyderabad for a year or so, he identified Siraj. And to Siraj’s credit, he had the hunger and desire to learn. Arun imparted a lot of knowledge.”

The pacer claimed his maiden five-wicket haul in the iconic Test win and was about to write his name on the iconic Lord’s honour board as well after taking twin four-wicket hauls in the second Test against England recently. And, the veteran spinner believes that Siraj has done exactly what Arun wanted him to do as well.

He added: “Siraj has just followed him. Some people might doubt it. Be skeptical whether it is the right thing to do or not but Siraj took Arun as his guru and went about doing exactly what he wanted him to do. Arun must have then passed it on to Shastri,” L Sivaramakrishnan said.

However, Siraj was in a sublime form during the fourth innings of the Lord’s Test. And, Indian bowlers did a great job bowling out the England unit and register a convincing 151-run win as well.
