Former Afghanistan coach Lalchand Rajput praised a move by BCCI as they are ready to host Afghanistan’s inaugural Test match. The Board of Control for Cricket in India confirmed on Monday that India and Afghanistan will face off each other in a Test match, what will mark their debut at the longest format.

Talking to PTI, Rajput quoted “It is good that they are playing their first Test against India. It will help them in all aspects, including the cricketing one and the monetary aspect. India has always been supportive to Afghanistan (in terms of cricket).”

Both, Ireland and Afghanistan, earned a Test status in July this year, which was a result of their significant rise at the International arena. In the process, they have produced some big names like Muhammad Nabi and Rashid Khan, latter has been among the headlines in last 20 months.

Former Mumbai batsman Lalchand quit his job from Afghanistan cricket setup sitting to security concern.
