The 12th edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) ended on a high note for Mumbai Indians (MI) as they won a nail-biting final on the last thriller by one run against Chennai Super Kings (CSK). They have lifted the IPL title for the fourth time and that was indeed a great moment for not only the players but also the owners and coaching staff. However, the whole team gathered in the change room before leaving the venue. Their head coach Mahela Jayawardene shared his final words for the entire team which was heart-warming.
“As for today, we never gave up. Yes, we made mistakes but we just keep coming back and that’s important. That is the culture you need to create and throughout this season everyone has put their hand up,” Jayawardene said.
Meanwhile, Mumbai franchise took to their official Twitter account and posted the video where Jayawardene expressed, “We don’t have a Purple Cap or an Orange Cap, but who cares… we got this (pointing at the IPL trophy).”
