Manjrekar Speaks on Best Position for KL Rahul

With the world in shelf shock and everyone in self-isolation due to the pandemic outbreak of coronavirus, the cricketing fraternity is taking this time to build their fitness by working out indoors and spend some time with their families. With everyone asked to stay indoors to contain the spread of the COVID-19 virus, many players and cricket experts are seen spending their free time on social media. Sanjay Manjrekar too held a Q&A session for his fans on twitter and decided to answer them.  Sanjay Manjrekar took to twitter and asked his fans and cricket followers to chat with about general cricketing questions.

One such avid cricket fan asked the former Indian batsman on his views of KL Rahul’s batting position. KL Rahul who usually opens the innings for his team was batting at the number 5 position in recent white-ball matches for team India and was quite successful at that spot.

Sanjay Manjrekar was qucik to respond to the fellow twitter fan. Manjrekar shared his thoughts and said that KL Rahul is currently the right choice for the 5th spot in the One Day Internationals for team India.  Manjrekar wrote back “For the moment he is the right fit. But we must keep looking for a Raina and Yuvi kind of batsman when Rahul eventually moves to the top.”

 

KL Rahul has been in sublime touch and possibly India’s most inform batsman right now. The star batter was shifted in the middle order during team India’s tour New Zealand and also in the home ODI series before that against Australia.

During his Q&A session on Twitter, Manjrekar was also asked to share his thought on the right choice for number four and all-rounder’s spot for the T20 World Cup which is scheduled to be hosted by Australia, later this year. He decided to go with Shreyas Iyer and Hardik Pandya.

Manjrekar was recently dropped of BCCI’s commentary panel for the India-South Africa ODI series which was canceled due to the Corona Virus pandemic.
