Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) skipper, KL Rahul has received a fine of 20% of his match fee for an unknown break of the IPL’s Code of Conduct during his side’s match against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). This was the first Instance of the Lucknow Super Giants skipper being fined for slow over-rate. Earlier, Rohit Sharma has been fined for slow over-rate twice this season.
KL Rahul admitted to the “Level 1 offense” of the IPL Code of Conduct and “accepted the sanction”, the IPL said in a release. Rahul’s teammate Marcus Stoinis has additionally been reprimanded for breaking the IPL Code of Conduct during the game as well which RCB won by 18 runs on Tuesday night.

Stoinis’ Code of Conduct breach was also not specified, however, he was seen arguing with the on-field umpire during an over bowled by Josh Hazlewood. IPL press release regarding the same read: “Mr Stoinis admitted to the Level 1 offence of the IPL Code of Conduct and accepted the sanction”. For Level 1 breaches of the Code of Conduct, the Match Referee’s decision is final and binding.
Faf du Plessis was the player of the match as he played a phenomenal knock of 96 from 64 balls, which helped RCB to reach second place on the points table. On bouncy track t the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, RCB managed to move on from the early loss of two wickets in the first over of the match to post a defendable score of 181 for 6. During the second innings, the phenomenal spell from Josh Hazlewood barred LSG from chasing the total.

However, Super Giants tested through a hard-hitting knock of 42 off 28 balls from Krunal Pandya, as they keep on losing wickets at crucial intervals. However, when Marcus Stoinis fell in baffling conditions with 34 required from the last couple of overs, their challenge fell away.
