Mayank Agarwal’s another ton registered a dominant victory for India A

Mayank Agarwal again hit a ton that helped India A to beat England Lions in the List A tri-series at Leicester on Tuesday. India A managed to score 309/6 in 50 overs over England Lions was bowled out for 207 runs (41.3 overs) as India A won by 102 runs.

After winning the toss, India A captain Shreyas Iyer decided to bat first. Openers Mayank Agarwal and Shubman Gill provided a solid and big start as they put 165-run partnership. Gill scored 72 runs off 80 balls (10 fours and 1 six) while Agarwal scored 112 runs off 104 balls (10 fours and 4 sixes).

A day earlier, Agarwal (112) had scored another identical match-winning century against Windies A while Gill (58*) secured their seven-wicket victory after comfortably chasing the 222-run target in 38.1 overs.

Coming to this game, no.3 batsman Hanuma Vihari scored another half-century that set a 300+ total for the team. Vihari was dismissed after scoring 69 off 63 balls with 5 fours and only six.

Among the English pacer, Matthew Fisher (2/58) and Ed Barnard (2/51) got two wickets while Steven Mullaney (1/41) picked up one wicket.

In reply, England Lions batsmen failed to chase down that target as none of their batsmen played a big knock. Liam Dawson scored the highest runs in that innings with 38 runs while wicketkeeper Ben Foakes (32 runs) and Ed Barnard (31 runs) were the other batsmen to reach the 30-run mark in that innings.

All the Indian bowlers picked up at least one wicket in that innings. Among them, Shardul Thakur (3/53) bagged three wickets while Khaleel Ahmed (2/30) picked up two wickets. Also, Prasidh Krishna (1/30), Krunal Pandya (1/37), Krishnappa Gowtham (1/45) and Deepak Hooda (1/10) claimed one wicket each.
