The stylish Indian spinner Mayank Dagar is yet to make his debut in international cricket but the photogenic spinner from Himachal Pradesh never misses a chance to hog the limelight. Last year, the 21-year-old cricketer grabbed a lot of eyeballs after sharing space with India juniors’ coach Rahul Dravid in a TV commercial for an IT firm. Recently, Dagar made a revelation.

Nephew of former Indian opener Virender Sehwag, Dagar became a known face following his exploits in the Under-19 World Cup, 2016, in which India reached the final but couldn’t manage to lift the trophy. Dagar, who gave India some hope in the final against the West Indies by taking three quick wickets, picked 11 scalps in four matches that he played in the tournament at an average of below 10, a strike rate of less than 20 and an economy of 2.88.

Dagar, who made his debut for Himachal Pradesh in Vijay Trophy in 2015 has quite a fan following. He has often been compared to the Indian skipper Virat Kohli for his style statement and more than 100,000 followers on Instagram. Dagar has recently revealed the name of his crush.

In an interview with Hindustan Times, Mayank revealed something that would surely leave several of his female fans disappointed. Revealing the name of her crush, Mayank said, “Sonam Bajwa. She’s a Punjabi actress.”

Bajwa is a 26-year-old model-actress who is active in Punjabi and Tamil films. She was also the participant of the Femina Miss India contest in 2012, she played a leading role in the 2014 Punjabi film Punjab 1984.

Dagar’s style statement is very unique

However, Dagar said that his relationship status is single when asked about it, he said, “My game is my relationship. As one stays loyal with one’s girlfriend, I stay loyal to my game.”

Dagar has played 11 first-class and 10 List A games so far, taking 34 wickets in all. He was also signed up by Kings XI Punjab earlier this year for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018.
