On June 17, 2014, former Indian all-rounder, Stuart Binny bowled a famous spell where he managed to scalp 6 wickets while giving away just 4 runs in a One-Day International against Bangladesh. Binny still holds the record for the best-ever figures in an ODI match by an Indian bowler, courtesy of the same game.

The winning-spell match by the Karnataka-born all-rounder is being celebrated by the cricketing world today. The spell by the right-arm seamer was highly celebrated as he bowled it when the visitors were defending a low score of 105. The match was a must-win second encounter of the ODI series which was being played at the Mirpur cricket ground.

However, Binny failed to capitalize and continue the momentum after an unbelievable performance as he was no longer in contention for the national team and in the Indian Premier League (IPL) as well for several years. The right-arm pacer announced his retirement in the last year itself (30 august 2021).

It was a difficult pitch to bat on, and by the time Bangladesh was batting the ball was beginning to bounce up awkwardly in addition to moving around all over the place. Still, the fans had wondered why some of the batsmen played the shots they played. It started with Tamim Iqbal’s terrible slash in the first over, and the batsmen kept up his example right through the chase. This is the lowest number of runs scored in an ODI in which all 20 wickets fell.
