Former England skipper, Michael Vaughan has predicted that express fast bowler Umran Malik will soon play for India. Vaughan has also advised the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), to let the fast bowler play in county cricket to develop his skills. To note, Malik is representing Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022.
Interestingly, Umran Malik was retained by the Orange Army ahead of the IPL 2022 mega auction for INR 4 crore after his impressive performances last season. The express pacer clocked a 151.03 km/hr delivery in IPL 2021, which turned out to be the fastest delivery by an Indian bowler in the previous edition.

Umran Malik has scalped three wickets in IPL 2022 so far, but given his express pace with the ball, he is surely a prominent contender to play for the Indian team in near future. In the encounter against GT on April 11, Malik scalped a crucial wicket of Australian wicket-keeper batter Matthew Wade, as the southpaw was caught right in front of the wicket.

Hailing from a lower-middle-class family in Jammu’s Gujjar Nagar, Umran Malik started playing cricket at a young age. His father, was always supportive of Umran’s passion for cricket. Malik was called up as a net bowler for the Indian side in the T20 World Cup 2021 and he honed his skills while bowling to Indian superstars like former Indian skipper, Virat Kohli and current captain Rohit Sharma in the nets.
