Since his debut in international cricket, the Indian right-arm pacer Jasprit Bumrah has evolved as one of the top-class bowlers in the world cricket. While Bumrah is dominating with the ball in hand in every country of world cricket, Clarke feels that the time is not too far when Bumrah will become the best bowler in the world.

According to Sydney Morning Herald, Clarke said, “He (Bumrah) must be a great guy to play with and to captain. He doesn’t mind the pressure or the expectations. He wants to learn and is a workhorse – not too long before he will become the best bowler in the world.”

Currently, Bumrah is the top-ranked ODI bowler. However, the 25-year-old right-arm pacer is dominating in the world cricket in every format. In the ongoing year (2018), Bumrah has already picked up 75 wickets in international cricket which is the fourth most in this year and he is very close to taking the leading spot.

After superb performances in South Africa and England, he is maintaining his brilliant bowling form in the ongoing Australia tour. Making his Test debut in this year, Bumrah has picked up 45 Test wickets in this year and that too all in outside the Indian soil. At present, he is the leading away Test wicket-taker as an Indian bowler in a calendar year. Also, he is the most Test wicket-taker as an Indian bowler in the debut year.

On Friday (December 28), during the day three of the Melbourne Test between the hosts Australia and the visitors Australia, Bumrah delivered a furious bowling spell that helped the visitors to bundle out the hosts for just 151 runs, against their first innings total 443/7 decl. At the end of that innings, Bumrah had the bowling figure of 15.5-4-33-6.

After claiming the Test five-wicket haul once each in South Africa (Johannesburg – 5/54) and England (Nottingham 5/85), it is the third time in this year when Bumrah claimed another Test five-wicket haul and that too in Australia (Melbourne). With this new achievement, Bumrah becomes the first Asian bowler to claim the Test five-wicket haul at least once each in South Africa, England and Australia in the same calendar year.
