Chennai Super Kings after opting to bat first against Rajasthan Royals at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur managed to put up a solid total with almost all batsmen contributing. Suresh Raina top-scored with 52 while Jofra Archer picked 2 wickets for 42 runs. RR is playing in a special jersey tonight for a cancer awareness cause.

Earlier in the night, Chennai captain MS Dhoni won the toss and chose to bat first. He said that they had a meeting and the coach decided that we should bat first. CSK tonight decided to bring back Sam Billings and Karn Sharma and dropped Kungi Ngidi and Dhruv Shorey. Rajasthan dropped Anureet Singh and Mahipal Lomror. They handed a debut to Prashant Chopra and brought in another spinner in Ankit Sharma.

Rajasthan Royals opened up with both spinners and K Gowtham started the bowling to Watson and Rayudu. The batsman who was in an explosive form so far, Ambati Rayudu was dismissed by Jofra Archer for just 12 runs tonight. CSK in the third over found themselves at 19/1.

There was blip after the 19th over though, as Dhoni thought the innings was over and he rushed back to pavilion without realising a final over was still remaining. His miscalculation was covered by his teammate and the match resumed. The incident was reported by ESPNCricinfo and below is the screenshot of their report. By the end, Dhoni remained not out with 32 runs from 22 balls.
