After returning from his injury, Starc has failed to perform upto his familiar level but slowly he is working to find back his rhythm in bowling. In the ongoing four-match home Test series against India, Starc was criticised heavily after his struggling bowling performances during the first Test at Adelaide. While Australia lost that game by 31 runs, Starc was able to take five wickets in the whole but he was not in his rhythm.

After that game, the former Australian leg-spinner Shane Warne criticised his bowling and further claimed that the left-arm pacer would be bowling in the Perth Test for his spot in the playing XI.

Starc said, “He’s been on my back since I made my debut, so I don’t really care what Shane says. I’m not going to pay attention to him. As long as the coach, the captain, the team and the staff are happy with the role I’m playing and I’m doing that job for the team, that’s what matters to me.
