In 2018, the captain of Indian women’s cricket team Mithali Raj will be coming out with her autobiography, which will provide a straightforward look into her personal and cricketing life. The autobiography will be published by the Penguin Random House India.
The book will not only be a treat to cherish for her fans but also be an intriguing story of how a common girl went on to inspire millions of girls and brought real change in Indian women’s cricket. Raj is pretty excited to share her story and she is hoping that the people will love it. Mithali is credited with thrusting Indian women’s cricket to the centre stage.
Mithali Raj made her international debut at the age of 16 against Ireland in an ODI and scored a breathtaking century on debut, becoming the only Indian cricketer to do so, until KL Rahul made a century on his ODI debut against Zimbabwe.
Mithali won the Arjuna award at the age of 19. On the occasion of this announcement of the autobiography, Mithali said: ”I am thrilled to be a part of the Penguin Random House family and excited to share my story with them. I hope people come to like it through this book.”
Penguin Random House India’s Associate Commissioning Editor, Radhika Marwah said, ”I am delighted to be working with her and we, at Penguin Random House India, are very proud that she has chosen us to bring her story to the world.”
