After losing the first ODI of the three-match series in Sydney, the Indian team is in a desperate need of a win in the second DI against Australia in Adelaide. However, the Indian skipper Virat Kohli once again lost the toss and the Australian skipper Aaron Finch decided to bat first. The Indian bowlers made early inroads in the Australian line-up as they were reduced to 26/2. However, in the 37th over of the game, Mohammed Shami took revenge when he dismissed Marcus Stoinis after being smashed for two back-to-back boundaries in early in the over and the hosts were reduced to 189/5.

On the second ball of the over, Shami bowled short delivery outside off and Stoinis does very well to put that away as he saw that early and swats it away, in the air but wide of mid-on for a boundary. On the very next ball, Shami bowled full and outside off and Stoinis smacks it back down the ground with the full face showing. It was a half-chance for the bowler to take the catch, but he only to get his fingertips to it as the ball went through to the long-off boundary.

Shami was fuming after he back-to-back boundaries which was evident on the next ball as he dismissed the batsman on it. It was delivered shortish outside off by the bowler but the bowl didn’t climb as high as Stoinis expects as he goes for the pull, but he only managed to get the bottom edge of the bat as Dhoni took a comfortable catch behind the stumps. Marcus scored 29 off 36 balls.

It’s a do-or-die game for India as if they lose the Adelaide ODI, they will end up losing the ODI series before moving to Melbourne for the final game of the series.
