Mohammed Siraj produced a fiery response after dismissing Rajasthan Royals youngster Vaibhav Sooryavanshi during the Gujarat Titans’ crucial IPL 2026 clash at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Saturday, May 9. Chasing a daunting target of 230, Rajasthan Royals once again relied on Sooryavanshi to provide an explosive start in the powerplay.

The young batter continued his fearless approach and immediately went after Siraj, smashing the very first ball he faced for a massive six. He followed it up with three boundaries in the same spell, putting the Gujarat Titans’ pace attack under serious pressure early in the innings.

However, Siraj responded like an experienced campaigner. On the fifth ball of the third over, the India pacer delivered a sharp short ball that rushed onto the batter. Sooryavanshi attempted an aggressive pull shot but failed to control it properly, edging the ball towards Arshad Khan in the deep.

The dismissal triggered an animated celebration from Siraj, who roared in delight after ending the youngster’s dangerous cameo. The send-off quickly grabbed attention on social media as fans reacted to the intense battle between the two players.

 

Despite the dismissal, Sooryavanshi once again showcased why he has emerged as one of the breakout stars of IPL 2026. The RR opener smashed 36 runs off just 16 deliveries, including three fours and three sixes, keeping Rajasthan in the chase during the early overs.

The teenager has been devastating in the powerplay throughout the season. In the first six overs alone, Sooryavanshi has scored 359 runs from just 148 balls at a staggering strike rate of 242.56. He has also hammered 33 fours and 32 sixes during the powerplay phase, making him one of the most destructive openers in the tournament this year.

Siraj, meanwhile, once again showed his ability to deliver under pressure, producing a crucial breakthrough just when the Gujarat Titans needed one most.
