During the second Test between India and Bangladesh at Green Park, Kanpur, fast bowler Mohammed Siraj expressed visible frustration after a lacklustre fielding effort by KL Rahul. The incident took place during the 52nd over on Day 4, when Siraj bowled a short-of-a-length delivery aimed at Mominul Haque’s body. The batter placed the ball behind square, where it passed Rahul stationed at deep backward square leg. KL Rahul’s lack of urgency in chasing the ball left both Siraj and captain Rohit Sharma visibly displeased.
Mohammed Siraj, in particular, didn’t hold back his frustration, giving Rahul a cold death stare for his half-hearted effort. Rahul, however, gestured that the ball was out of his reach and there wasn’t much he could have done. Just a ball later, Shubman Gill also committed a misfield at square leg, further testing Siraj’s patience. Despite the fielding errors, Siraj maintained his focus, bowling disciplined lines and continuing to apply pressure on the batters.

Mohammed Siraj, a vital cog in India’s fast-bowling attack, has been impressive throughout the series, forming a potent duo with Jasprit Bumrah. He picked up two wickets in the first Test in Chennai and has so far claimed the crucial wicket of Litton Das in Kanpur, thanks to an outstanding catch by Rohit Sharma.

India’s fast-bowling duo, Siraj and Bumrah, have been key to the team’s success in recent times. With crucial series against New Zealand and Australia coming up, India will rely heavily on Siraj’s form and consistency. After the Bangladesh series, India faces New Zealand in a three-match Test series at home, followed by a five-match series in Australia.
However, the second Test in Kanpur has been marred by rain and wet conditions. Only 35 overs were bowled on the first day, with Bangladesh ending at 107-3 after India chose to field.

After two rain-washed days, play finally resumed on Day 4, with Bangladesh reaching 205-6 by lunch. Mominul Haque, who scored a century, remains Bangladesh’s key player as they hope for support from the lower order, though a result seems difficult with just two days remaining. India, however, will be eager to secure a clean sweep after their commanding win in the first Test in Chennai by 280 runs.
