Recovering from long-term injuries can be a daunting task, even for the best fast bowlers. Mohsin Khan is currently experiencing this challenge as his lackluster performances in IPL 2023 have brought criticism his way, particularly after his disappointing two overs on Wednesday. On May 16, he became the center of attention when he played a crucial role in the Lucknow Super Giants’ defense of 11 runs in the final over against Mumbai Indians.
Unfortunately, Mohsin suffered a shoulder injury at the end of the last season, causing him to miss the entire domestic season. He also missed a significant portion of the current edition. Despite his heroic performance against MI, he has struggled to find his rhythm with the ball in hand throughout the tournament.

In the Eliminator against MI at Chepauk, Mohsin once again found himself in the spotlight. However, his performance was a far cry from his previous encounter with MI. This time, Green, whom he had bowled superbly against before, punished him with a massive six and a blazing four in the opening two overs.
Of particular significance was the six that Green smashed off Mohsin’s delivery, reaching the third tier of the stadium. It was an impeccably timed hit, executed with ease. On the last ball of the ninth over, Mohsin Khan pitched the ball around the off-stump, hoping for a good-length delivery.

However, Green was ready for such a delivery and effortlessly pulled it over deep mid-wicket. The ball sailed into the third tier, igniting the crowd’s excitement at witnessing such a powerful stroke on the slowish Chepauk track. Mohsin Khan’s struggles to regain his previous form after the injury are evident, and he will need to work hard to overcome this setback and rediscover his effectiveness as a bowler.
