Pakistan Cricket Board is reportedly facing a major financial challenge, with billions in unpaid dues still pending from several broadcast, commercial, and business partners. According to a PTI report, the situation has also affected Pakistan Super League franchises, many of whom are still waiting for their share of revenue payments from the central pool.

The report stated that the PCB recently issued legal notices to multiple stakeholders, including PSL teams and media partners, demanding immediate clearance of outstanding payments. The board reportedly warned that continued non-payment could lead to strict legal action and even termination of contracts.

Interestingly, some PSL franchises that initially received notices for delayed annual fee payments have now cleared their dues. However, those franchises have also urged the board to release their pending revenue share from the league’s central pool, which has reportedly been delayed for a long period.

A PCB source claimed that one franchise questioned why its full share from the PSL 10 central revenue pool — estimated at nearly PKR 96 crore — had not yet been paid. In response, the board reportedly explained that it was struggling to settle franchise payments because several contracted partners had themselves defaulted on massive financial commitments.

The report further revealed that PCB still owes certain franchises between PKR 40 to 45 crore from last season’s central pool distribution. The financial strain appears to have intensified due to one major company allegedly failing to clear dues worth approximately PKR 4.5 billion. That company had previously secured broadcast, media, and commercial rights for PSL and other international cricket events in Pakistan.

According to the source, the non-payment has significantly affected PCB’s financial management and auditing processes. The ongoing situation has raised serious concerns about the league’s revenue structure and the board’s ability to maintain financial stability going forward.
