The Dhaka-born cricketer mentioned that he fainted quite a few times earlier as well but after which the problem was revealed through medical checkups. However, Mosharraf, who is still a part of Bangladesh’s domestic cricket, sounded confident about the maladay, saying that the tumor hasn’t spewed venom just yet and he is expected to be fine very soon.

As per the quotes in Dhaka Tribune, Mosharraf said, “I have applied for the visa and an appointment has been set at Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore. The doctors said the tumor is at a very primary stage and successful removal should be able to cure me, Inshallah.”

In the meantime, Dr. Debashish Chowdhury, the chief physician of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) remarked that the veteran has consulted the BCB medical team and has been given the appropriate advice in order for him to recover at the earliest.

The chief physician said, “Severity of the tumor can only be understood once the biopsy is done following the operation. So far, the reports suggest that the tumor is at a primary stage but after all, it is a tumor in the brain so it is very sensitive. It was during the BPL this year when he fainted and was advised a thorough checkup.”

As far as his cricketing career is concerned, Mosharraf played for Bangladesh in five ODIs after making his debut way back in 2008. His last international appearance was against England back in October 2016. Recently, he was a part of the Comilla Victorians in the sixth edition of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), but could only play one match against Dhaka Dynamites where he got one wicket.
