Chennai Super Kings (CSK) celebrated their victory in style after clinching a convincing win against Rajasthan Royals in their last home game of the IPL 2024 season at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. Opting to bat first, Rajasthan Royals struggled to find momentum on the slow pitch, ending their innings with a modest 141/5 in 20 overs.
CSK’s bowlers, led by Simarjeet Singh and Tushar Deshpande, restricted the opposition with disciplined bowling. In response, CSK chased down the target comfortably within 19 overs, thanks to an unbeaten 42 by skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad.
The victory was celebrated with a ceremonial lap of honour by MS Dhoni and the CSK squad, much to the delight of the roaring crowd at the stadium. The celebration took a nostalgic turn when former CSK stalwart Suresh Raina joined Dhoni and the team during the lap of honour.
