Chennai Super Kings are enduring a tough start to their IPL 2026 campaign, with three consecutive defeats leaving them rooted at the bottom of the points table. As the five-time champions search for answers, fans are eagerly awaiting the return of their talisman, MS Dhoni, whose absence has been deeply felt in the early stages of the season.

Dhoni has missed the first three matches due to a calf strain and is currently undergoing rehabilitation. According to reports, the former skipper may need at least another week to regain full match fitness. However, a recent viral video from a training session has offered a positive update. Dhoni was seen striking the ball cleanly and even running between the wickets, hinting at steady progress in his recovery.

Despite the encouraging visuals, there is still no official confirmation from the CSK management regarding his availability for their upcoming clash against the Delhi Capitals on April 11 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. Earlier reports suggest that Dhoni is likely to miss that fixture, with the franchise instead targeting a possible return during their April 18 encounter against Kolkata Knight Riders.

CSK’s challenges don’t end there. The team is also dealing with the absence of young South African batter Dewald Brevis, who is recovering from an injury sustained during training. His return timeline remains uncertain, although the franchise is hopeful of his availability in the near future.
