Former Indian skipper MS Dhoni was rested for India’s second T20I against Ireland on Friday, as the men in blue made as much as four changes to their playing XI. Although the changes became more lethal of the opposition as compared to the previous game, as India won by a huge margin of 143 runs, MSD managed to grab attention even as a substitute.
Dhoni has always been known for his down to earth nature. He never takes the credit for a win as he as always been seen standing in the corner of team photographs. On Friday, the legend gave another example of humility as a person. Team India was batting first and the top order batsmen KL Rahul and Suresh Raina demolished the Irish attack at the Malahide Cricket Club in Dublin.
Usually, the batsmen often asked for drinks to remain hydrated, and they were served by none other than MS Dhoni. He had no hesitation in running on to the field, carrying a huge kit-bag, and offering energy drinks to his team-mates.

India warmed up for their tour of England with a crushing 143-run win over Ireland in the second Twenty20 international in Malahide on Friday to win the series 2-0. It was the joint second highest winning margin in a Twenty 20 international and set India up nicely for tougher games against England.
Talking about the win, the Indian skipper, Virat Kohli said, “Just the right kind of momentum we needed. Pretty happy that we got in balanced performances. For us, the opposition does not really matter. We know if they come hard, we have the batting power to go hard as well. Plus we have to wrist-spinners. It’s going to be a competitive series against England.”

Rahul top-scored with 70 and Suresh Raina made 69 as the visitors got off to a flying start despite the loss of Kohli for nine. They scored as many as 213 runs in the first innings after losing just 4 wickets in 20 overs after Hardik Pandya’s late blitz in which the all-rounder struck 32 runs off nine balls.
India head to England for three T20s, three ODIs, and five Test matches.
