Apart from being a successful world-class captain, Dhoni is also one of the best wicketkeepers, batsmen and finishers in the world cricket. And of course, he is one of the most loving and respected cricketers in the world.

Dhoni made his international cricket debut in December 2004 through the ODI cricket when India had a tour in Bangladesh. After struggling in the initial stages, Dhoni gradually grew up and evolved himself as a world-class cricketer.

One year later, Dhoni made his Test debut in December 2005 against Sri Lanka at Chennai. Similarly, one more year later, the wicketkeeper-batsman made his T20I debut in December 2006 against South Africa at Johannesburg, which was also India’s first ever T20I match.

Under his captaincy, India won the 2007 ICC World T20, 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup and 2013 ICC Champions Trophy. Dhoni is the only captain in history who won three different ICC trophies.

Though Dhoni retired from the Test cricket in December 2014 and also has given up his international cricket captaincy in early January 2017, he is still playing the limited-overs international crickets in best form.

Dhoni has played 90 Tests, 321 ODIs and 93 T20Is where the right-handed wicketkeeper-batsman has scored a total of 16,409 runs (4,876 runs in Tests, 10,046 runs in ODIs and 1,487 runs in T20Is) and also has made a total of 788 dismissals as a wicketkeeper (204 in Tests, 407 in ODIs and 87 in T20Is).
