Coming to the first ODI of the series at Guwahati on Sunday, India clinched a comfortable victory against the visiting side Windies and has taken the 1-0 lead of the series.

After winning the toss, Indian skipper Virat Kohli decided to field first. With the help of young Shimron Hetmyer’s brilliant century knock (106) and some crucial supporting knocks, Windies put a challenging total of 322/8 on the board at the end of 50 overs.

In reply, with the help of dual centuries by the Indian captain (Virat Kohli) and ODI vice-captain (Rohit Sharma), India reached the target comfortably in 42.1 overs after losing only two wickets (326/2) as the hosts won the match by eight wickets with 47 balls remaining.
