MS Dhoni Refused His Business Class Seat In A Flight To UAE?

The Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) director K George John has gone on to reveal that skipper, MS Dhoni gave up his business class seat to him as he preferred to travel in the economy to Dubai where they will be playing their IPL 2020 matches. George John tweeted about the incident and even posted a short clip in which it can be seen that Dhoni is sitting in an economy class seat, speaking to deputy Suresh Raina and some of his other teammates.

Dhoni will be coming back on the cricket field after more than a year as the T20 league is scheduled to commence in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from September 19. He announced his retirement from international cricket on August 15 but will continue to lead CSK in the IPL.

Tweeting about the same, CSK director wrote: “When a man who’s seen it all, done it all in Cricket tells you, “Your legs are too long, sit in my seat (Business Class), I’ll sit in Economy.” The skipper never fails to amaze me.”

Dhoni, his team, and team officials left for the UAE from Chennai on Friday after finishing their six-day training camp in Chennai. It was during this training camp that Dhoni decided to announce retirement from international cricket. Raina also followed suit as he stunned the cricket fraternity by bringing the curtains down on his career.

Players are required to undergo an isolation period of 6 days after reaching UAE. All players, domestic and overseas, will be undergoing 5 tests before entering the biosecure bubble, the BCCI had said in its Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) document. Players and support staff are supposed to undergo tests every 5th day after entering the biosecure bubble.

After two negative COVID-19 PCR tests, 24 hours apart, players will be allowed to fly to the UAE. Players will be put up in hotels and will be in quarantine during which they will give 3 more Covid-19 tests over 6 days.
