MS Dhoni Reuited WIth Suresh Raina In Chennai For The CSK Camp

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper, MS Dhoni on Friday reunited with a few of his teammates, including his deputy, Suresh Raina, en route Chennai for their training camp ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020. Raina took to social media to share a photo of Dhoni with himself from their trip to Chennai in a chartered plane. Deepak Chahar, Piyush Chawla, Karn Sharma were also seen in the photograph.

Social media was quite active as the photos and video of Dhoni reaching Ranchi airport started going viral.  The CSK captain was seen getting off his SUV and walking towards the airport, while a few of his fans watched on.

IPL 2020 will be taking place in the UAE without any crowd between September 19 and November 10. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) moved the tournament due to the increasing cases of the novel coronavirus pandemic.

Raina also posted a picture with teammates Deepak Chahar, Barinder Sran, and Piyush Chawla inside the flight with some of the crew members. captioned it as, “Thank you so much @vistara for taking us to Chennai!!!”

CSK’s training camp at the MA Chidambaram stadium will be attended by Dhoni, who underwent a coronavirus test like his teammates and tested negative. He had also undergone the Covid-19 test to fulfill the SOP set by the IPL Governing Council and he tested negative.

All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja is the only high-profile name who will not be able to join CSK’s training camp while bowling coach Lakshmipathy Balaji is likely to be the only member of the coaching staff present. He will however be reaching Chennai in time to join his teammates on the flight to Dubai on August 21.

CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan meanwhile, confirmed that they were hopeful that both the South African cricketers, Lungi Ngidi and Faf du Plessis, would reach the UAE after September 1. South Africa has currently sealed its borders to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 infection.

The only other South African player in the CSK, Imran Tahir, will join the squad directly after taking part in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) which will be taking place between August 18 and September 10 in Trinidad and Tobago.
