With IPL 2025 looming, MS Dhoni is already making a statement about another thrilling season with Chennai Super Kings (CSK). The 43-year-old legend treated fans to his signature helicopter shot during a recent training session. Up against new Sri Lankan pacer Matheesha Pathirana, Dhoni with ease hit a yorker over the stands, testifying that his power and accuracy are as keen as ever.

Even after retiring from global cricket in 2020, MS Dhoni remains a vital cog for CSK. Retained at INR 4 crore before the new season, his inclusion provides stability and experience to the team. During IPL 2024, he played a significant role, making 161 runs at a remarkable strike rate of 220.54 while maintaining an average of 53.66. His finishing skills and on-field leadership are still precious for the five-time champions.

However, speculation is rife that IPL 2025 might be MS Dhoni’s swansong. Fans spotted him wearing a T-shirt with “One last time” inscribed in Morse code, fueling retirement rumours. While neither Dhoni nor CSK management has confirmed anything, the anticipation around his potential farewell season is growing.
