While with one of stumping he will surpass Kumar Sangakkara as both the greats are currently standing at 99 and one more unbeaten innings to register the maximum unbeaten innings in ODIs. At present, he stands at 72 unbeaten innings with Shaun Pollock and Chaminda Vaas.

In the last two ODIs against Sri Lanka Dhoni has sealed the mouths of all his critics who felt that his time has come to call it a day with his unbeaten knocks which helped India to take an unassailable 3-0 lead in the 5-match series.

In fact, after the 2rd ODI, Mahi has become the fourth highest run-getter for India in ODIs as he has amassed 9608 runs from 299 games. Only Sachin Tendulkar (18,426), Sourav Ganguly (11,221) and Rahul Dravid (10,768) are now ahead of Dhoni on this elite list.
