Prominent Indian cricket captain MS Dhoni has provided a significant update regarding his knee injury and his eagerly anticipated return to the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2024 with the Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Following his successful leadership of CSK to victory in the IPL 2023, Dhoni grappled with a persistent knee injury that had hampered his batting contributions. In the wake of CSK’s fifth IPL title win, Dhoni underwent knee surgery, and he has now revealed that his recovery is progressing smoothly, with no complications.
Dhoni shared this update during an event in Bengaluru on October 26. At the age of 42, he confirmed that medical experts have assured him that he will experience significant improvement in his condition by November. The legendary wicketkeeper-batsman also expressed his satisfaction that his knee has withstood the surgical procedure and that he is currently undergoing rehabilitation.
“Knee has survived the operation, going through the rehab phase, and the doctor told me that I would feel much better by November. But there are no issues in my day-to-day routine,” remarked MS Dhoni.

“Right from the beginning, my focus was not on being remembered as a great cricketer. I always said that I want to be remembered as a good human being. You know, and if you want to be a good human being, it’s a lifelong journey,” MS Dhoni added.
Putting an end to the speculation surrounding his future after leading CSK to their fifth IPL championship, Dhoni had previously pledged to make a comeback in the IPL 2024.
