Directed by the acclaimed Venkat Prabhu and starring the ever-popular Thalapathy Vijay, the upcoming film “The Greatest Of All Time” (GOAT) has sparked major excitement, especially with rumours that former Indian cricket captain MS Dhoni might make a cameo appearance. The buzz intensified after the director hinted in an interview that a scene featuring a Chennai Super Kings (CSK) match would be included in the movie.
“We are featuring a CSK match in a scene in the GOAT movie know who will make an appearance on the screen…,” shared Venkat Prabhu teasingly, creating a buzz of speculation and excitement among both Kollywood fans and Dhoni supporters. Keeping in mind that his actual appearance is yet to be defined, the mere possibility has already stirred excitement.

GOAT is a big-budget Tamil science-fiction movie, reportedly made on ₹ 300-400 crore with the interestingly intriguing idea of time travel. The story has Vijay essaying the role of a father-son dual character, adding layers to this story. It is loaded with star casting such as Prabhu Deva, Sneha, Laila, Jayaram, and Yogi Babu.
Coming to theatres on September 5, 2024, in standard and IMAX, the expectation for it at the box office is really high. Incidentally, Dhoni has never acted in any movie, but his life was dramatized in the 2016 biopic “M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story,” in which the late Sushant Singh Rajput played him.

MS Dhoni and wife Sakshi have also produced the two recently produced a Tamil romantic-comedy film which was directed by Ramesh Thamilmani in his directorial debut last year. Coupled with the possible cameo by Dhoni, GOAT now has the potential to intrigue not only film enthusiasts but also cricket lovers, hence adding another dimension of interest in an already keenly awaited release.
