A viral video capturing Dhoni’s net session, where he effortlessly dispatched deliveries with his characteristic finesse, has only heightened anticipation across social media platforms, stirring the fervour among cricket aficionados.

Last season, Dhoni grappled with a knee injury, often finding himself batting in the lower-middle order as he managed his workload. Despite this setback, he led CSK to their joint-highest fifth IPL title, earning widespread admiration from fans and teammates alike.

Following his surgery and diligent rehabilitation, Dhoni appears resolute in making a resounding comeback, setting his sights on steering his team to another triumphant campaign.

CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan expressed optimism regarding Dhoni’s fitness, affirming, “He has recovered well (from his knee injury). He is undergoing his rehab programmes and has started training. By the time the next IPL starts, I am sure he will be fit to play.”

This assurance serves as a comforting reassurance for fans eagerly awaiting Dhoni’s return to the fold. However, CSK encountered an early setback with New Zealand opener Devon Conway set to miss the initial stages of the tournament due to thumb surgery following an injury sustained in an international match.
