The T20 World Cup is all set to kick off in Oman and the UAE from October 17 where some of the best cricketing nations will be eying to win the coveted trophy. India’s journey in the mega event will begin on October 24 against their arch-rivals Pakistan in Dubai. Talking about the development around India’s T20 WC, former chief selector MSK Prasad opened up on how the combination of MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli will be vital for India.

MSK Prasad added Dhoni’s support will be crucial for departing skipper Kohli who will be eyeing to win his maiden ICC trophy as India’s captain. Dhoni has had a great stint with the Indian team and led them to three ICC Trophies. The former chairman of selectors stated that what happens behind curtains is very crucial.

It was in 2013 when India grabbed the last ICC trophy when Dhoni-led them to the ICC Champions Trophy. Moreover, India has won the inaugural edition of the 2007 World T20 and 2011 ODI World Cup and all have come under the guidance of legendary Dhoni.
