Mujeeb Ur Rahman came with a sweet reply when he was asked about MS Dhoni

In just 17-year-old, the Afghanistan off-spinner Mujeeb Ur Rahman has impressed in the world cricket through his brilliant bowling skills. Recently, a fan asked him about the former Indian skipper MS Dhoni, on which he made a sweet response.

In a very short period of time, the new Afghan sensation has grabbed the attention in the world cricket through his brilliant bowling skills. He is currently the no.8 ODI ranked bowler.

The young Afghanistan cricketer has recently used the Instagram’s Ask Me Anything (AMA) feature, where a fan asked him “few words about MS Dhoni”.

Mujeeb made his IPL debut in this year as he featured for Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in IPL 2018. In his maiden IPL season, he finished as the second most wicket-taker for his team by picking up 14 wickets in 11 matches and moreover, he had the best economy rate in bowling (6.99) among the teammates.

Talking about the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain MS Dhoni, who won the IPL 2018, Mujeeb commented, “I think he (Dhoni) is such a sweet soul and he is an inspiration,”

The right-arm off-spinner first time came in limelight during the 2017 ACC U-19 Asia Cup at Malaysia where Afghanistan U-19 won the tournament after beating Pakistan U-19 in the final. Mujeeb was the Player of the Tournament award winner after finishing as the leading wicket-taker in the tournament with 20 wickets (average 5.55).

Mujeeb also featured in the 2018 ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup in New Zealand, where Afghanistan U-19 finished as the semi-finalist. Before that tournament, Mujeeb made his ODI debut while his T20I and Test debuts happened after the youth World Cup. Making his ODI debut on December 5, 2017, Mujeeb became the first male to play international cricket who was born in the 21st century.

Mujeeb has played only Test, 23 ODIs and 7 T20Is where he has taken a total of 54 wickets (one in Test, 44 in ODIs and nine in T20Is).

In the foreign T20 leagues, Mujeeb is one of the top demanding Afghan cricketers at present. Apart from IPL, he has already featured in the Bangladesh Premier League (Comilla Victorians in 2017) and England’s T20 Blast (Hampshire in 2018). Recently, he has signed for Brisbane Heat for the entire 2018/19 Australian Big Bash League.
