In a video posted on their social media platforms, the Mumbai Indians squad can be seen engaged in rigorous warm-up sessions and intense training drills at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium.

The likes of Tilak Varma, Suryakumar Yadav, Romario Shepherd, Nuwan Thushara, and Luke Wood are depicted showcasing their skills through catching practices, bowling sessions, and batting drills. The post was captioned, “Training at full tilt in Punjab & ‘camera emoji’ with the Paltan”, signifying the team’s dedication and unity.

Among the highlights of the training video were the appearances of coaching stalwarts Lasith Malinga and Kieron Pollard, offering insights and encouragement to the players. Pollard could be seen sharing words of wisdom with Romario Shepherd before his net session, while Malinga engaged in a discussion with ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah.

Having experienced a somewhat sluggish start to their IPL 2024 campaign, with two wins from six matches, the Mumbai Indians are keen to turn the tide with a victory against the Punjab Kings.

Their last encounter against the Chennai Super Kings ended in defeat, despite a stellar performance from Rohit Sharma, who notched up a remarkable 105 runs off 63 balls. Despite Sharma’s heroics, the team fell short by 20 runs in a high-scoring thriller.
