Currently, the eastern greats, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are locking horns with R Ashwin-led Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata. After winning the toss, the KXIP skipper asked the hosts to bat first. Unlike the last game for KKR, Sunil Narine came out to bat with Chris Lynn for the opening position.
During the toss, the KKR skipper, Dinesh Karthik revealed that they have made no changes to the squad, on the other hand, Ashwin revealed four changes in their squad, Nicolas Pooran, Mujeeb ur Rahman, Sam Curran and Ankit Rajpoot made way for, David Miller, Andrew Tye, Varun Chakravarthy and Hardus Viljoen.
Lynn and Narine started well as they smashed the 2nd over of the innings bowled by Varun Chakravarthy for as many as 25 runs with the help of three towering sixes and a four. On the second ball of the over, Narine smashed the ball into the dug-out as the bowler delivered the ball in good length and the Windies all-rounder, planted his front foot to clean the long-off boundary. The other two sixes came in the last two deliveries of the over.

On the penultimate ball of the over, Narine reached the pitch of the ball to slog sweep over the leg side boundary for another maximum. Then came the final ball in which Varun delivered a ball which was sliding down the leg side, but the batsman launched it over the backward square boundary for the third six of the over.

The boundary came just before the second six as Narine honked through midwicket, but it was some calculated aggression from the batsman. After that shot, one has to agree with the fact that Narine don;t need finesse, as he has tremendous hitting power.
