Making his Test debut in the early this year, Bumrah is yet to play his first Test on his home soil but he had already picked up 47 Test wickets in just 9 matches. In the ongoing Melbourne Test, Bumrah dominated over the host batting line-up in their first innings and bagged six wickets while Australia was bundled out for just 151 runs against India’s first innings total 443/7 decl.
Talking about Bumrah, Lyon said at the end of the day four of the Melbourne Test, “Bumrah is quick and has a very good slower one. He is world class and has all skills, a very good all-round package. Not surprised that he is a top bowler in Test cricket so quickly because I have seen him in white ball cricket. So, he is obviously a top-class bowler.”
