The young Indian pacer, Navdeep Saini was declared man of the series as the men in blue sealed a 2-0 series win against Sri Lanka with a comprehensive win by 78 runs in the third T20I in Pune on Friday. Saini went on to scalp five wickets in two matches that were played in the series after the first match was washed out and changed the game completely in India’s favor.
However, Saini has always been seen as a better red ball bowler in the domestic circuit, but the seamer said that he is now finding it easier to bowl with the white ball.

Talking about his bowling after the match, Saini said, “When I used to play with the red ball earlier, I used to find bowling with the white ball difficult. But now after practicing, I have been finding it easier and am improving. My seniors have been helping me as well, telling me how to bowl in different situations.”
On Friday, Saini took three wickets for 28 runs, including the match-winning final wicket. Saini said that he never takes his fitness lightly while bowling quick comes naturally to him.
Saini added, “Bowling fast comes naturally to me. I look after my gym and diet and playing for India is a big deal. I have been playing with the red ball only for the last four-five years, before that, I was playing with the tennis ball only.”

In the match, Sri Lanka captain Lasith Malinga invited India to bat on a flat pitch in Pune. The Indian openers, Shikhar Dhawan and KL Rahul put on a 97-run partnership which helped India past 200. In reply, Sri Lanka lost four wickets in teh powerplay and they were eventually bowled out for 123. Shardul Thakur was named player of the match for his all-round show while Navdeep Saini was adjudged player of the series.
