The Sunrisers Hyderabad are locking horns with the Gujarat Titans in Match 19 of IPL 2025 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad. Shubman Gill, leading the Titans, won the toss and chose to field first, putting the onus on the Sunrisers’ aggressive openers, Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma, to provide a fiery start.
Travis Head looked threatening early on, cracking a couple of crisp boundaries off Mohammed Siraj in the very first over. But Siraj, known for his fiery comebacks, had the last laugh as he dismissed Head with the final delivery of the over, silencing the initial excitement in the crowd. Social media was quick to react, with fans trolling the Australian opener for failing to capitalize on his promising start.

Siraj didn’t stop there. He soon sent Abhishek Sharma packing too, removing both of Hyderabad’s explosive openers within the powerplay. The early double strike gave Gujarat Titans the edge and left the Sunrisers struggling to rebuild.

At the toss, SRH skipper Pat Cummins said he would’ve bowled first as well, but was happy to set a target. He reflected on their previous 280-run blitz at this very venue, saying the team loves batting here. “This isn’t the time to be timid,” Cummins added, emphasizing that the team is focusing on players playing to their strengths. With Harshal Patel unwell, Jaydev Unadkat was brought into the XI.

Gill, on the other hand, acknowledged the black-soil pitch looked slightly slower than usual. “You usually get good bounce here, but today we have to adapt,” he noted. He mentioned their positive experiences at this ground and was optimistic about putting on another entertaining performance. Washington Sundar replaced Arshad Khan in SRH’s lineup for this game.
